Like & Share…When I caught word of the missing girls, I told my students the next day and they were just as upset. We had recently discussed the children of Zimbabwe, Mumbai, and Project Night Night (children without beds) and then this tragedy happened…Their homework assignment was to bring awareness by telling their family and friends at home. I told them that their voices matter, regardless of their age! I want them to practice speaking out against injustice at an early age. The next week, they came back and told me they saw it all over the news thanks to social media. They made posters, wrote letters, poems, and signed our classroom petition.
