locsnlyrics: Hair| Rinse Recipe: Rosemary Mango Tea Rinse By: Ed.@locsnlyrics The most important ingredient in all hair products I make is water. Water is not just what the body needs. It’s the main ingredient in us. Water cleans, moisturizes, hydrates, conditions. Good old water. I used about two liters of boiled water. While the water is boiling, throw in rosemary and black tea. Rosemary stimulates hair growth and restores shine to your strands. I used two bags of mango black tea to offset the smell of the apple cider vinegar. Black tea is a natural astringent like apple cider vinegar, which means “that [they penetrate] the pores of the scalp and dissolve excess sebum.” Apple cider vinegar is perfect for locs. A big threat to clean locs is dust and residue that gets trapped. ACV removes build up in hair. I used 4-5 caps full. It’s strong! I added a few drops of vitamin e oil. There are two astringents in this, so I thought the oil was a good moisturizing measure. Process I wet my hair with regular water first. Then I took cup fulls of the rinse and poured it over sections at a time, massaging my scalp during and after. I didn’t rinse it out! It continues to serve my hair after. I put the left-overs in a spray bottle to use every few days. All of ingredients have beneficial effects besides their cleaning properties. Apple cider vinegar, for example, “when used regularly… can revitalize your hair, leaving it soft and smooth.” So, here’s a “shampoo” that cleans, nourishes, and strengthens. I used the recipes and ideas I found on this site and adjusted to suit my needs! You got other hair cleaning ideas? I’m sure there are lots of beautiful strategies/thoughts out there. I’d love to publish them, so do submit! Oreka Godis4 March 2013 Facebook0 Twitter 0 Likes
